Nevada voters approved a ballot measure that protects abortion rights up to the point of viability, according to a projection by Decision Desk HQ. The measure adds the protection to the state constitution.
The measure allows Nevada to enact restrictions after viability is reached, which typically occurs around the 24-week mark. Restrictions after that point are permitted only when necessary to protect the life or health of the pregnant person.
