President Donald Trump will hold a closing argument rally at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, with additional tele-rallies planned. Trump held in-person rallies Sunday in Iowa and Kansas, states that host two of four Senate toss-up races.
In Iowa, Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson is running for the seat vacated by retiring Republican Sen. Joni Ernst against Democratic State Rep. Josh Turek, a two-time Paralympic gold medalist. In Kansas, Republican Sen. Roger Marshall faces Democrat Adam Hamilton in a toss-up race. The other two Senate toss-ups are in Alaska and Maine, both Republican-held seats.
Two Iowa Republican House incumbents, Reps. Zach Nunn and Marinnette Miller-Meeks, appear on CQ Roll Call's list of most vulnerable House members. Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., traveled with Trump on Sunday and is scheduled to hold rallies in Virginia Beach and Texas on Election Eve and Election Day.
A major surprise emerged in Michigan on the final weekend. Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens endorsed and appeared alongside Republican former Rep. Mike Rogers, the GOP Senate candidate, after being told she was no longer welcome in Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed's campaign. "If Trump and his allies attempt to interfere with the will of the voters, Senate Democrats are prepared to fight back immediately and aggressively," a Senate Democratic aide said. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called Stevens's endorsement a "despicable betrayal."
